Testimonials 2009

Read comments from World Sight Day Challenge 2009 participants:

“Each year there seems to be more excitement & awareness about the WSDC. Our staff really got behind it & enjoyed wearing the tshirts on the day – and they continue to wear them on other days too!

“I was touched to see a little girl, about 4 years old, putting a coin in the donation box. From a personal point of view I'm involved with Optometry Giving Sight because I understand the
desperate need out there & want to do whatever I can to help - seeing other people (staff, patients, Optometrists) also rising to meet the challenge gives me a great sense of encouragement. It makes you realise that people do care & nothing is impossible.”

For the second year running, students at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, excelled in their fundraising efforts. World Sight Day was seen in with a BBQ and prize draw with fantastic prizes donated by local businesses. Over the previous few weeks, the students were also busy selling raffle tickets, hosting another BBQ, a cake sale and donating a percentage of ticket sales from their faculty Eye Ball. In total the UNSW students raised $5,500!

“It was really our pleasure organising the fundraising for this year's WSD. We had a great time, and we're really proud of our year for helping us raise so much!”

Napat Vararutsupagul, UNSW Student
