CIBA VISION CONTINUES TO GIVE SIGHT
Corporate Profile: CIBA VISION
Optometry Giving Sight’s target of providing 5 million people access to eye care services over the next three years is something everyone who has donated to Optometry Giving Sight should be proud of. In 2005 CIBA VISION saw the potential Optometry Giving Sight had to give sight to millions in desperate need and made a commitment by becoming our Global Founding Corporate Patron. Their commitment has helped Optometry Giving Sight to employ fundraisers, develop marketing materials and access their customers.
As Global Founding Corporate Patron, CIBA VISION committed US$1 million over five years and the establishment of a full-time, Optometry Giving Sight Corporate Fellow position, an industry first, to support the organization’s efforts around the world.
Based in our Sydney headquarters, Brian Spiller, Marketing Director for CIBA VISION Australia and New Zealand is currently the second CIBA VISION funded Corporate Fellow to work with Optometry Giving Sight. Taking on the role in March 2007, Brian has made a huge impact
globally with his innovative marketing concepts and targeted campaigns.
He has also developed and executed the first market research project for Optometry Giving Sight, the results of which will form the basis for new global communications in 2008.
Brian and our Country Managers also work to develop and maintain excellent relationships with CIBA VISION country organizations – and there was no shortage of activity in 2007.
Staff in Australia, Canada and the United States took part in the World Sight Day Challenge, helping to raise their own funds for the day and engaging their customers through the distribution of our promotional materials. They also provided many opportunities for Optometry Giving Sight staff to speak at their conferences and educational meetings. This was complimented in the U.S. where Optometry Giving Sight was one of 3 charitable organizations to be included as part of CIBA VISION U.S.’ first staff-giving program.
In Canada, CIBA VISION became a National Platinum Sponsor, initiating a cause related marketing program in support of their Night & Day® and O2OPTIXTM SOLOCARE AQUA® value
pack, while CIBA VISION Australia continued to provide ongoing financial, staff and in kind support. CIBA VISION in the UK is also supporting Optometry Giving Sight through their Specialist Club meetings and staff fundraising activities.
