- Eye care service delivery - exams, low-cost eye glasses and low-vision devices
- Human Resources - training of optometrists, eye care personnel and their teachers
- Infrastructure development – establishment and support of vision centres, eye clinics and schools of optometry.
To date more than $US3 million has been allocated / disbursed to projects that have helped to screen and provide basic eye care services to more than 1.7 million people, train 1550 mid-level eye care personnel and create more than 100 vision centres / optical workshops.
Optometry Giving Sight has directed funds to programs in the following countries:
Malawi; Mozambique; Tanzania; Eritrea; South Africa; Zambia; Sri Lanka; East Timor; Vietnam; China; Indigenous Australia; Papua New Guinea; India; Nicaragua; Mexico; Haiti; Peru and Afghanistan.

Your donations have, and can, help give sight to people living in East Timor, Sri Lanka, Western Australia, Papua New Guinea, India and Sumba.
South Africa, Zambia and Mozambique have all received funding as well as the Regional School of Optometry for Southern Africa which will benefit people living in many more countries.
People living in earthquake devastated Haiti, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru have and will benefit from your donations.
