Southern Council of Optometrists/SECO International
The Southern Council of Optometrists/SECO International is comprised of the state associations of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. The Armed Forces Optometric Society (AFOS) is a valued affiliate member of SoCO. SoCO is dedicated to promoting organized optometry and education for optometrists world-wide. SECO represents an outlet to accomplish that mission.
North Central States Optometric Council
The mission of the North Central States Optometric Council (NCSOC) is to provide a forum for exchange of information between member state associations, enhance optometric education in the region and further the political interests of member states in the American Optometric Association. These state associations in turn represent approximately 7,000 licensed doctors of optometry in the region.NCSOC represents optometrists in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
North Carolina State Optometric Society
Established in 1909, the North Carolina State Optometric Society (NCSOS) is made up of nearly 800 member optometrists. Its mission is to promote, advance and insure the viability of the practice of optometry for the benefit of its members and the citizens of North Carolina. Optometrists are primary eye care providers who diagnose, manage and treat injuries and diseases of the eye and the visual system.
