SUCCESS STORY:
$4200 World Sight Day

Rena and Sue from Dr John Schachet's Practice

October 12, 2006 was a busy day for Dr. Stuart Bark’s (left) two offices in Scottsdale, Arizona. Family Eye Care Associates donated $4,200—its total revenue from eye exams that day—in response to the World Sight Day (WSD) Challenge. “Our staff played a key role in helping the charity. They informed our patients how the donations from their exam fees would help to give sight and end refractive error blindness,” said Dr. Bark. “By donating all the fees collected that day, the WSD Challenge was a success.”

You too can participate in an event for World Sight Day on October 11, 2007. Call 1-888-OGS-GIVE to speak with our staff so we might assist you in staging such an event. It’s an excellent practice builder in your community!

VISION SOURCE NORTH AMERICAN MEETING

We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the Vision Source North American Meeting in Dallas this week.

Please stop by Booth 218 to speak to our Optometry Giving Sight staff members, Pamela and Alyssa. Whether it’s about getting your practice involved with our Practice Giving Program, or you would like to give your current Practice Giving Program a boost - we can provide you with all the information and tips you need.

OPTOMETRY GIVING SIGHT LEADERS CAMPAIGN

We’d like to invite you to join our Optometry Giving Sight Leaders Campaign.
This will be launched at the conference. Our goal is to sign up 500 doctors giving a monthly donation of $100 as an individual or practice donation.

When you sign up to make a monthly donation as part of this campaign, you will receive a co-branded Vision Source / Optometry Giving Sight t-shirt and a Giving Kit for your practice. Come and see us at our Booth to become part of this highly regarded group at the Vision Source National Meeting.

RECOGNITION BY THE VISION SOURCE NETWORK

Please join us on Saturday, April 21, at 7:45 am to be recognized by your prestigious peers. Stand up and be counted with your colleagues for supporting Optometry Giving Sight at the Vision Source National Meeting.

If you are participating in the Practice Giving Program, the Regular Giving Program, or both, we look forward to the opportunity to thank you publicly during the Vision Source Meeting.

SHOW OUR VIDEO IN YOUR RECEPTION AREA

Visit the EyemaginationsTM Web site to download one of our videos for your reception area. This is a great way to tell your patients what Optometry Giving Sight is all about. Once they’ve heard about your practice’s Charity of Choice, asking them to make a donation will be that much easier!

WHAT INSPIRES OUR CHAIRMAN

“I am inspired by the opportunity to make a difference through my profession. Millions of people are suffering needlessly from preventable blindness, and one real difference I can make is to help mobilize optometry to raise funds for projects directed toward the elimination of uncorrected refractive error and helping those with permanent low vision. I want to know that I am doing something to ensure that every child on this planet has the right to sight and a chance for a better future.”
