SUCCESS STORY:
Midwest City, Oklahoma

Dr Bobby Christensen & Jane Baldwin

You all know Dr. Bobby Christensen (left) as an international leader in Optometry. Bobby has been a true supporter of OGS and has personally led the effort in his own practice.

Along with OGS Champion, Jane Baldwin (right), the two set out to get the program started in their practice of 5 doctors and 20 staff. Jane commented recently that the program truly is a team effort with the most challenging piece being to simply get started. Once started, the program runs itself with a motivated and dedicated staff. The key to getting started is to name a person in your practice to lead the effort.

“It’s been really exciting for our practice to see the positive response from the patients. In the first week we collected $200 in donations,” said Jane. Bobby’s practice matched the patient donations of $435 for a total contribution of $870 in just the first month. These donations will give sight and hope to those in need. What a success story, by collecting just $1 at a time. Thank you Vision Source Midwest City

STEPPING UP…
WORLD SIGHT DAY CHALLENGE A SUCCESS

What a fantastic response we have had from doctors and staff to the World Sight Day (WSD) Challenge!

We are pleased to announce that 100 doctors in 44 states are now actively participating in the Practice Giving Program by stepping up to the challenge of collecting as little as a few dollars from each patient they see. Nearly every practice is matching these donations.

The response from doctors, their staff and patients has been remarkable - they all really appreciate the opportunity to become involved in a global effort to give sight. We are well on our way of achieving the target of 200 practices participating in this program by year’s end.

Even more importantly, we are confident they will each be setting an "Annual Giving Goal" to achieve by WSD 2007.

NOT ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY? STILL NOT STARTED?

You may be thinking that no matter how easy it is to get started in Practice Giving - it’s yet another thing to do. We know the many demands that compete for your time and attention - including new instruments, products, and technologies for you to apply in your practice.

Let us help. Just give us the name of your office manager or OGS Champion (a staff member in your practice) and we will get in touch with them to implement this international humanitarian effort.

It’s just the step of getting started. We’ll work with your staff to do the rest.

Simply click here and fill in your details and we’ll contact you in the coming week.

YOU ASKED…
“WE HAVE A DONATION CHECK TO MAIL IN. WHERE DO WE SEND IT?”

There are 2 easy ways to remit donations to OGS. We suggest that you do this at the end of each month - or as part of your regular payments cycle. Payments can be made on online at www.givingsight.org or you can mail a check, made payable to Optometry Giving Sight, to:

Optometry Giving Sight - USA
8360 Old York Road
Elkins Park, PA 19027

We can send you mailing labels too. Just contact us for a supply.

YOUR PATIENTS LIKE THE IDEA!

Remember, stepping up to the WSD Challenge shows your sense of commitment to be part of the solution to end refractive error blindness globally and is a clear statement to your patients that your practice is taking action and making a difference.

We think your patients will appreciate knowing that you and your staff are part of this important global initiative. In order to help you convey the message we'll provide marketing materials to use in your practice so that your professional 'Charity of Choice" becomes part of your practice environment.
