Optometry Giving Sight funds sustainable programs that provide eye exams and glasses in developing communities, to enable children to see to learn at school, adults to work and provide for their families and the elderly to retain their independence and dignity. Funds also help to train eye care professionals and develop vision centres and schools of optometry that ensure a lasting solution in developing countries.
Just $5 can provide an eye exam and a pair of glasses in some developing countries.
Your eye care professional may be one of the thousands around the world who support us. Some practices make regular donations, while others participate in our fundraising campaigns, such as the ‘World Sight Day Challenge’. Please join them by making a donation and helping transform more lives through the gift of vision!
A regular donation of $5 per month could provide glasses to 12 people per year.
Optometry Giving Sight is a joint initiative of the World Optometry Foundation (WOF), the International Centre for Eyecare Education (ICEE) and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and supports the goals of VISION 2020: The Right to Sight.World Sight Day is an initiative of VISION 2020 and their global theme is countdown to 2020.
